Take a look at what our guests have to say:

We stayed a this hotel at the start of the 2010 season and had a fab time. We arrived late and had a warm welcome and speedy check in. The rooms are spacious and have lovely views with small balconies to enjoy a lazy afternoon. The hotel is in a peaceful location and in ideal base for sightseeing. The owners were very helpful with places to see and local events to attend and was always on hand. The Jacuzzi was a real treat, the outdoor pool was too cold to use in May but the indoor was available, if a bit cooler than i would like. The food was excellent, the menu was so tempting we ate at the hotel instead of finding cheaper alternatives. I can recommend this hotel for a romantic week away, a sightseeing tour of la Palma, a base for hiking, or just to see the clouds below the hotel in the morning.

We had our honeymoon at La Palma Romantica and quickly realized we were in a remote paradise. La Romantica is thoughtfully laid out in beautiful surroundings. We were lucky to discover La Romantica and we cannot wait to return! The staff were friendly and professional. They got to know us by name. The food was delicious and varied. Breakfast was served until late in the morning and suited our needs well. Dinner was a wonderful treat for us each night. The restaurant is simple and elegant. We have fond memories of the wait staff who served us every night at our table. The service is far superior to any buffet, and always presented with a touch of class. If you go, definitely pay for half board. And ask about the bananas flambé! La Palma Romantica is hard to reach without a car. You can take a bus to some of the towns and cities but it is time consuming and you will be limited in destination. We hired a car through the front desk at La Romantica for half our stay and we explored the island as much as possible. Next time we plan to get a car at the airport and keep it for all our time on La Palma. Do not go to La Palma Romantica for a beach holiday. It is not close to the beach, and it is not intended for that kind of holiday. Go for the clean air and beautiful views of the sea. Go for the splendorous night sky. Go for serenity. Go for a very special experience. And don't forget the bananas flambé!

Took my wife for a weeks break in mid July. I have stayed in 4 and 5 star hotels, and how this hotel is only rated 3. i cannot understand. The rooms were very spacious , the views stunning , and it had all the facilities you needed, except lifts which I suppose is why it is only rated 3. We stayed on half board for less than £30 a day and the food was good and varied, one night we had a fillets of local black wild boar. For a few days we hired a car from a local firm , and just explored the north, what a stunning place and the pace of life is so relaxed. If there is a perfect place to go to escape the stresses and strains then this has got to be it!

Great location in the mountains overlooking the sea, the meals in the restaurant were very good, the hotel room was very comfortable and spacious, the spa was good but we had to pay to use the sauna. La Palma seems to be a undiscovered island for the Brit's, but anyone who likes Madeira would feel very much at home in La Palma. Local restaurants and bars were very cheap. Booked a week at the La Palma Romantica hotel on the Internet and flights with Thomson direct to La Palma. Booked car hire on the Internet but found out later that it was cheaper to book direct with the hotel.

All in all a great hotel we will be going back

Firstly a very big thank you to you personally for making our holiday such a memorable one. The trips out certainly made our holiday and our experience of the island one to savour and remember.  We both consider ourselves fairly well travelled and would put La Palma very high on the list of most beautiful places we have visited. Secondly our thanks to all the staff at Hotel Romantica for all the attention and care during our two weeks with you. We will without doubt be recommending both La Palma and your hotel in particular to friends and associates

We had a short break at the Hotel in July 09 the new owner and his family and staff were welcoming, very polite and friendly. Rooms were spacious well appointed all with sea views. Our room was on the top floor with a lovely sloping wooden ceiling. Breakfast was self service with a wide selection of choices. Evening meal was waiter service and again was very good and if there was a specific dietary request they were more than happy to please you. You could choose to have any of your meals in the Dining room or the Conservatory. The spa was elegant with hand painted murals and had a tranquil atmosphere.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

This hotel is set in beautiful, mountainous countryside and looks very much as in the photos and hotel promotion. The swimming pools, especially the indoor pool (did not use outdoor one while there) was very pleasant with murals of local scenes and usually I was the only one using the pool so very pleasant. The Jacuzzi is lovely too. This is not the run of the mill type place but I would recommend it for someone who wants to do some walking or exploring as it's a beautiful part of La Palma and wants to stay in a quiet, intimate hotel with friendly staff and owners.

Just to thank you and the staff for making out stay very pleasurable and relaxed
and for making my birthday quite special your staff at the hotel are amongst the
most pleasant and helpful of any in the many hotels we have stayed in.

The hotel was a gorgeous well run family business, really friendly staff, so knowledgeable of the area. They're happy to share advice on the best places to visit. My favourite was the natural swimming pools at La Fajana. Stock up well on the ample buffet breakfast as you'll be out all day driving, hiking, sight seeing, there's so much to see, the island is incredible, with acres of pine forests, jungle, plantations, fruit trees and bushes everywhere, caves, observatories right at the top, the most most stunning views from up there. We only had a short break, and with so much to see and do, we'll be going back. Would definitely re-book in at La Romantica, the hotel we thought was spot on, our room was beautiful with balconies looking down over the village of Barlovento and out across the forests, amazing fragrant pine roof, you have robes in your room so you're well equipped to use the spa. Evening meal in the hotel was excellent, all fresh local produce.

All in all, really enjoyable stay, wish we could have stayed a bit longer.

It is almost a week ago now that I left the Isla Bonita La Palma and your hotel.

From a cold and very rainy Holland I want to thank you very, very much for my pleasant stay at the Hotel. It was exactly as it should be: just the right amount of care. Feeling a guest and looked after getting just that extra touch of service that made it a wonderful experience. The Hotel is beautiful. The surroundings are like the whole northern part of the island, full of colour, nature, light, warmth peace and rest. The rooms spacious and cozy. The outlook from the balcony marvellous. The bathroom nice and luxurious with warm water the whole day through. The swimming pools, sauna and bubble bath add an extra luxury. That all is important when you stay in a Hotel, but it is the warm, friendly, helpful human touch that makes it such a wonderful experience. For me that was extra important because I travelled alone. I am sure though that I would have appreciated it just as much if I would have been together with other people. So again: Thank you all very much, whether you work at the reception, in the restaurant or cleaning rooms, you all made an effort to make the stay as pleasant as possible. Muchas gracias e hasta luego,

We did enjoy our week with you in room 27 We were not expecting the luxuriant vegetation in particular the rare trees and flowers, the difference between the north and south of the island was unexpected.  We did enjoy the walks and the guided trips to the volcanoes and to the north of the Island with Juan  Your hotel was a delight, spacious and very comfortable, with the bonus of a real family atmosphere. I am so glad we didn't choose a larger hotel Thank you again for a great holiday
